People of Nineveh

Unesco commissioned me to make an installation about the ancient city of Nineveh and its people.

I created three layers:
On one side the background, the city of Nineveh damaged by the war. On the mirror the victims and refugees, photograph by Faisal Jeber. The visitor in the middle creates the third layer reflecting between the people and the back ground. The refugees cannot see the visitors standing behind them, watching and making selfies. The thin line between empathy and voyeurism!
